Common Questions

What is OpenSpace?

OpenSpace provides ground truth for your job. Think of us as a 360 degree visual time machine, allowing your team to visit a particular place at the job, at any moment in time. Resolve conflicts, validate WIP, add visual context to DCR’s and RFI’s, save needless travel to the site.

What is the difference between OpenSpace and other 3D capture tools?

While other 3D capture tools require dedicated setup and capture time, OpenSpace is special because it’s 100% labor free. Simply attach the 360 camera to the top of your hardhat with the included mount, then continue as normal - our proprietary artificial intelligence algorithm does the rest! It’s easy as wearing a Fitbit.

How much does OpenSpace cost?

We haven’t released public pricing yet, but our early customers have found us to be super cost effective - especially because the labor costs to use the tool are zero.

How do I set up a project?

Once you sign up, we’ll get you started! Send us the floorplans you plan on capturing, and we’ll upload them into your project.

Where do I download the OpenSpace app?

Find us in the iOS app store, just search for OpenSpace.ai. Android is on the way.

I want to use OpenSpace. How can I sign up?

If you’d like to set up a trial, fill out the form at Request OpenSpace

What cameras do you support?

Currently we support Garmin VIRB 360. If you don’t have one, don’t worry! We’re a licensed reseller, and can mail all required hardware to you.

Can I export my data?

Our customers own their own content - you can export your captures at any time.

Where is your data stored? How do I know that my data is safe?

At OpenSpace, we take data security very seriously. We treat all the information stored on our systems, regardless of customer, user, or use case, as equally important and extremely sensitive. All customer data is encrypted in transit with TLS encryption, as well as encrypted at rest using industry standard 256-bit AES encryption. Our data is stored with AWS. Read more about their security policies here: https://aws.amazon.com/security/

Have you run into any safety issues having the camera mounted on the hardhat?

No. The mounts do no damage whatsoever to the hardhat. We have also made sure to solicit approval from safety managers on existing jobs, and we have always gotten the thumbs up.
